Description
Atorvastatin belongs to a family of HMG CoA reductase inhibitors or ‘statins. Atorvastatin lowers low-density lipoprotein or LDL (considered bad cholesterol) and triglycerides in the blood while increasing high-density lipoprotein or HDL (considered good cholesterol) levels. High levels of LDL can result in stroke, heart attack, and other heart complications in people with diabetes, coronary heart disease, or other risk factors. This drug is primarily used for the treatment of Dyslipidemia and the prevention of cardiovascular disease.

So it is necessary to consult your doctor about the following drugs such as birth control pills, cimetidine, conivaptan, imatinib, isoniazid, dalfopristin, quinupristin, rifampin, telithromycin, antidepressants, heart or blood pressure medicines, diltiazem, gemfibrozil, fenofibrate, HIV medicine, spironolactone, rosuvastatin, lovastatin, fluvastatin, pravastatin, simvastatin.

How to Use
This drug is completely synthetic and works by hepatic cholesterol biosynthesis and lowers LDL cholesterol levels, which is the main reason behind strokes and other cardiovascular diseases.
You should not take this drug if you are:

— Pregnant or breastfeeding mom
— Have liver disease
— Have diabetes or thyroid problems
— Take more than 2 alcoholic beverages daily

— Have severe bladder infection
