Cetil 500 mg (Cefuroxime Axetil) is a cephalosporin antibiotic for treating various bacterial infections, including severe and life-threatening ones. Cefuroxime Axetil is marketed and sold under several trade names, a couple of which are Ceftin and Cetil (made by Lupin). Cetil effectively treats infections of the lungs, skin, bones, joints, urinary tract, ear, throat, and nasal sinus. It is also used during surgery to prevent infection.
