Ciplox 500 mg is treats certain infections caused by bacteria. It belongs to a class of drugs known as quinolone antibiotics, which works by stopping the growth of bacteria. It is effective against infection of the urinary tract, lower respiratory tract, prostate, sinus, bone and joint. Your doctor may also prescribe this drug to treat nosocomial pneumonia, infectious diarrhoea, plague, typhoid fever, cervical and urethral gonorrhoea, intra-abdominal infectious diarrhoea. Ciprofloxacin, the active ingredient of the medicine is considered to have anti-bacterial property, which helps to kill the bacteria, thus preventing its further multiplication in the body.

Before using Ciprofloxacin, tell your doctor your medical history, especially of diabetes, mood disorders, liver disease, kidney disorder, heart problems, seizures, high blood pressure, or certain genetic disorder. In some patients, Ciplox antibiotic may affects the heart rhythm, resulting in serious conditions such as irregular heartbeat that requires immediate medical help. Blood thinners may intercat with this quinolone antibiotic. Avoid drinking large amounts of drinks containing caffeine or chocolates as this may increase the effects of caffeine in the system.
Side Effects
Regular usage of Ciplox 500 mg may cause dizziness, diarrhea, trouble sleeping, nausea, headache, or light-headedness. Although these side effects are mild and disappear with time, if any of these get worsen, tell your doctor promptly. One should take immediate medical help if serious side effects such as signs of kidney problem, unusual bruising, persistent fever accompanied with sore throat, persistent nausea, abdominal pain, and unusual tiredness. You may rarely have persistent cramping, or abdominal pain, mucus in your stool, or persistent diarrhoea. If you have these symptoms, please do not take opioid medications or anti-diarrheal drugs.
How to Use
You should take Ciplox 500 mg with a glass of water. It is best to take the drug two hours after a meal. If you have though to may develop upset stomach, you may consume the medicine with food. Usually, it is prescribed as twice a day every twelve hours. A doctor will decide what dosage will work for you after analysing your current health status and medical history. You might be asked to drink plenty of fluids during the treatment. Taking Ciplox with other products may decrease its effectiveness. Ask your doctor about other medications or over the counter drugs you use. You should not take sevelamer, sucralfate, quinapril, or products containing aluminium, calcium, or magnesium with your antibiotic medication. Moreover, calcium rich foods including milk, or yogurt. Ask your doctor if you can safely use vitamins or herbal supplements with this medication. The length of treatment is usually based on the medical condition and response of the treatment.
