Do not take Dicorate ER 500 mg if you have liver problems, are allergic to divalproex sodium, have a genetic problem called urea cycle disorder, and are either pregnant or may become pregnant because you are not using effective birth control method. Before you take this anticonvulsant drug, tell your doctor if you have had depression, mood problems, or suicidal thoughts, or have other medical conditions. Your doctor should be aware of all the medications that you have been using. These may include prescription, non-prescription, herbal supplements and vitamins that you take for a short period of time. Taking Dicorate ER 500 mg with other medicines may cause side effects or affect the mechanism of action of any of them. Do not start or stop the medicine without discussing it with your doctor.

Like other medications, Dicorate ER 500 mg is an antiepileptic drug that may cause suicidal thoughts or depression in some people. Call your doctor if you have thoughts about suicide, depression, anxiety, trouble sleeping, feeling agitated, panic attacks, acting or dangerous impulses, aggressive, and other changes in behaviour or mood.you must pay attention to any changes, especially sudden changes in thoughts, feelings and behaviour. Visit your doctor at regular intervals to take the account of treatment response. Do not stop taking this anticonvulsant drug without talking to your doctor. Sudden discontinuation of the antiepileptic drug can cause worsening of seizures. Be sure to discuss your suicidal thoughts or actions with your doctor.

Take Dicorate ER 500 mg exactly as your doctor advises you. Your doctor will tell you how much of this prolonged-release tablet to take and when to take it. Your doctor may change your dose after analyzing your condition. Do not make any dose alterations without having words with your doctor. Do not discontinue the treatment without talking to your doctor. Swallow the tablet with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew it, if you are not unable to swallow it, you may need a different dose. Excessive consumption of Divalproex sodium ER 500 mg may harm you, immediately Inform your doctor if you accidentally consume too many tablets.
