Latoprost RT 0.005% Eye Drop

Latoprost is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to benzalkonium chloride or any other ingredients in the medicine. You should let your ophthalmologist know if you are using any other eye drops or taking other medication. Also, your healthcare provider should be aware of your pregnancy status (if you are pregnant, you might be pregnant or are planning a pregnancy). Your eyes might become watery or red. Rarely, an individual using this eye care medication may develop a rash. Latanoprost carries a preservative that may be absorbed by contact lenses and may change colour. One can wear contact lenses again after fifteen minutes after applying the ophthalmic solution. If you use more than one type of ophthalmic solution, wait at least five minutes between each eye drop.

Latoprost may change the colour of your eye. It may make your iris (the coloured part of your eye) browner. If you use the solution only in one eye, colour changes in the iris may appear only in the treated eye. These colour changes may be permanent. The ophthalmological solution may cause the eyelashes to darken, appear longer and thicker than usual, and increase in number. It may cause eye irritation due to misdirected eyelash growth; inform your ophthalmologist if this happens. Very few people may notice that their eyelids look darker after using the eye care solution for some time. These changes may be more noticeable if you use the solution only in one eye. Your eyelashes may be back to normal after the medication is stopped. Eyelid skin darkening may be permanent. While using the solution, you might feel like something is in your eyes.

One drop of Latoprost should be dropped into the affected eye once daily. The best time to use the eye drops is before bedtime. Do not allow the dropper tip of the product bottle to touch the eye or other surrounding areas, as this could cause contamination of the tip with common bacteria responsible for causing eye infections. Contaminated solutions may cause serious damage to the eye with subsequent loss of vision. If you have undergone any eye condition or have eye surgery, immediately seek medical advice concerning the continued use of your ophthalmic bottle. If you forget to put your ophthalmic solution at the usual time, wait until it is time for the next dose. If you use excessive eye care solutions in your eyes, you may feel some slight irritation.
