Description
The main purpose for which the Metaspray 100 mdi Nasal spray is used is:
- Treating allergies
- Treating rhinitis and nasal polyps caused by allergies
- Treating acute sinusitis and recurrent rhinosinusitis
The medicine may also be used for some other purpose too. It has the active ingredient Mometasone furoate, which works by decreasing allergic inflammation by blocking leukotrienes and mast cells in the nose.
Product Description
Use the medicine only for the purpose specified and not for any other purpose. Store the medicine in a cool, dry place away from moisture, heat and children. Do not share the medicine with anyone even if the person is suffering from the same symptoms. Even after using the medicine as prescribed and for the time for which it was prescribed, if the symptoms persist then you must visit your doctor again. Like most of the medication, there is a chance of drug interaction when taking Mometasone Furoate. You need to discuss with your doctor about all the medicines that you are taking currently to avoid any case of a drug interaction. Let your doctor know if you are allergic to Mometasone or any other substances present in the medicine. Your doctor should be aware of your pregnancy status as well. Tell your doctor if you are suffering from any medical condition.
Side Effects
Some of the possible side effects of the Metaspray 100 mdi nasal spray include headaches, nasal bleeding, mild sore throat, viral infections, and nausea. If the common side effects persist for long, then you must visit your doctor immediately. When using the drug, you may experience some serious side effects as well. These include changes in vision, sores in the nose, fever. This is not a complete list of side effects that may happen. There may be other side effects as well. How to Use
The recommended dose will be fixed by your doctor after examining you thoroughly. It will depend on several factors such as the severity of the condition, age, response to treatment etc. The usual dose is 2 sprays in each nostril once daily. For using the drug, first you need to wash your hands with soap and water. Blow your nose gently before using the spray. After that, the bottle tip needs to insert gently into one nose. While doing this you need to close the other nostril with another finger. Repeat with another nose. The medicine should be taken for the prescribed period. One must not change the dose or stop taking it without the doctors approve.
