Description
Nizonide 500 mg is a prescription medicine for the treatment of giardia intestinalis-induced diarrhea in adults and cryptosporidium-induced diarrhea min children aged 1 to 11 year. The active ingredient Nitazoxanide, a new antiparasitic agent that has been shown to be extremely effective against a wide range of protozoa and helminths. The antiparasitic drug is the first and only US FDA approved drug for treatment of cryptosporidium infection and is the first new therapy approved to treat Giardia infection in patients aged above 40 years. The medicine is well tolerated with primarily mild gastrointestinal side effects. For children younger than eleven years and younger, the liquid form of Nitazoxanid should be considered. For kids, the dosage is based on age as well as severity of the condition.
Product Description
Before you take Nizonide 500 mg, tell your doctor if your history of allergic reaction with Nitazoxanide or if you have other allergies. Be sure to inform your doctor of medical history, especially of kidney disease, liver disease and a weak immune system. During pregnancy, the antibiotics should only be used under the clear guidance of a doctor. Make sure you discuss the risk and benefits of using the medicine during pregnancy. Also, it is not known whether the drug passes into the breast milk. Speak to your doctor if you are a nursing mother. Try to take the drug at a fixed time as it is believed that antibiotic drugs work best when they are present at a constant level. How to Use
