Description
Nucoxia 90 mg effectively reduces pain and inflammation in the joints and muscle of people 16 years of age and older with rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, gout, and ankylosing spondylitis. It contains the active substance Etoricoxib which belongs to a family of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs NSAIDs that play a crucial role in managing arthritis and pain. Nucoxia is well tolerated safely during long term administration. It is an effective option in managing arthritis and pain with the potential advantage of once-daily administration and gastrointestinal tolerability compared to traditional NSAIDs. Etoricoxib is also useful as a short-term treatment of moderate pain after dental surgery in 16 years of age and older. The active component works by blocking certain chemicals in the body responsible for causing pain and swelling.
Product Description
Do not use Nucoxia 90 mg if you are allergic to Etoricoxib or other NSAIDs, including aspirin and COX-2 inhibitors. Avoid taking this anti-inflammatory medication if you have a current stomach ulcer, serious liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease, high blood pressure, or heart problems. It is also not recommended for under 16 years of age. If you have a history of stomach ulcers, talk to your doctor, have a prolonged bout of vomiting or diarrhoea, liver or kidney disease, diabetes, high cholesterol, or swelling due to fluid retention. The medicine can increase your blood pressure in some people, especially those who switch to high doses. Do not take the drug if you are a woman who is trying to become pregnant or are over 65 years of age.
Side Effects
Like all medicines, Nucoxia 90 mg can cause side effects, although not everybody who uses the drug gets them. Talk to your doctor straight away if you develop shortness of breath, chest pain, jaundice, severe or continual stomach pain, ankle swelling, or an allergic reaction that include skin issues such as blistering, swelling of face, lips, throat, and tongue.
How to Use
Take Nucoxia 90 mg exactly as your doctor has told you. You must check with your doctor if you are unsure of how to take medicine. You are not allowed to take more than the recommended amount. Your doctor will discuss the treatment from time to time and make dose adjustments accordingly. Your doctor will always recommend the lowest Etoricoxib dose to control your pain, and you should not take it for longer than necessary. Long term usage may increase your risk of heart attacks and strokes that might increase after prolonged treatment. The risk is especially associated with higher doses. The recommended dose is 90 mg once daily if needed to treat rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. For acute pain conditions such as postoperative dental surgery pain, the recommended dose is 90 mg once daily, which is limited to a maximum of three days of treatment.
