Omez 10mg Capsule ( Omeprazole 10mg )

The main drugs like atazanavir/nelfinavir, cilostazol, ketoconazole, diazepam, st john wort-a, warfarin, tacrolimus, digoxins etc., should be avoided in case the doctor prescribes you Omeprazole to avoid possible drug interactions:

Things to remember:

• The drug must be taken in the same quantity as provided by the doctor
• Do tell your doctor if you are planning to use any new drug along with Omeprazole
• Do not take the drug above its expiry date, and ask the pharmacist about the way of disposing of expired or left-out drugs
• Do not take it if you are allergic to Omeprazole or younger than 5 years, or have liver/kidney issues

Tell your doctor if you feel uncomfortable; you may need medical assistance if you undergo side effect such as constipation, stomach pain, nausea, fever, red eyes, skin rashes, headache, vomiting, dry mouth, blurred vision, increased heartbeat in males, hair loss, pain or indigestion, blood/black stool.

Consult with your doctor if you experience any of these side effects.

Take one pill each day. Generally, 20 mg or 40 mg a day is recommended. However, your doctor will decide the strength of the drug according to the condition you are being treated for and how severe it is.

Swallow Omez whole with a glass full of water. Do not crush or chew it. If done so, the drug may not work effectively. You must swallow the whole tablet/capsule with one glass of water. It may be taken with or without food. If you find difficulty swallowing the capsule, follow these steps:

1. Take a half glass of non – carbonated water (do not take mineral water or any other liquid drink)
2. Place the capsule in the water and stir it gently
3. Tiny pellets would be formed
4. Drink the pellets with water within 30 minutes, do not chew the pellets

Omeprazole is a drug that relieves the symptoms completely, and healing is usually complete within 4 weeks in most patients. Continue taking the drug as long as your doctor tells you.
