Description
Syndopa 10+100 mg is a combination of Carbidopa and Levodopa and is used for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease. These drugs are used in combination to treat the symptoms of the Parkinson’s such as shakiness, stiffness and difficulty moving etc. This combination may be used alone or with other medicines for Parkinson’s disease. The medicine is effective in reducing the severity of symptoms brought on by Parkinson’s disease. This drug does not cure the disease. Levodopa acts as dopamine and helps the brain to function normally. The Dopamine levels falls drastically when the persons become a Parkinson’s patient. Carbidopa prevents the breakdown of Levodopa so that more of the drug is released in the blood stream. Levodopa, the dopamine agonist (the active ingredient in Syndopa) works just like the natural dopamine. It helps the brain to function better and is used to treat symptoms of Parkinson’s disease, such as stiffness, tremors, muscle spasms, and poor muscle control.

If taken with alcohol, Syndopa 10+100 mg tablet may cause excessive drowsiness. Therefore, it is better to avoid alcohol during the treatment. There are chances that the medicine harms the unborn baby. Therefore, it is always best to use the medication under the supervision of a doctor. The medication might prove unsafe during pregnancy. One should never exceed the dose prescribed by doctor. Do not give this medicine to anyone else. This medicine could affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. Do not give this drug to a child or adolescent under 18 years old. Do not smoke while taking this medicine as if you are doing so then the doctor might need to change the dose accordingly.
Side Effects
Tell your doctor as soon as possible if you notice hallucinations, headaches, nausea, stomach pain, heart burn, swelling of legs, vomiting, fatigue, high blood pressure, mild drowsiness or sleepiness, weight loss, diarrhea, trouble having orgasm, headache, confusion.
In above cases you must go for immediate medical help. Do not get alarmed by the list. You may /may not experience all of them. Tell your doctor immediately in the above situations.
How to Use
The generally recommended dosage is 3 to 4 times a day. Always take the drug dose as prescribed by the doctor only. Never change the dosage, start, or stop using the drug without doctor’s permission. Always complete the dose. Swallow the tablet with one glass full of water. Do not break the tablet. Take the drug exactly as directed. This drug should be combined with well-balanced calorie-controlled diet that is rich in fruits and vegetables. If the tablet is taken without food, then it is more likely that you may feel sick or nauseated. So, it is best to take this medicine with food if you can.
