Thyronorm 150 mcg contains levothyroxine sodium, a synthetic thyroid hormone chemically identical to thyroxine produced by the thyroid gland. The treatment aim is to replace missing thyroid hormones and to relieve stress on the thyroid gland. When your body does not secrete enough thyroxine hormone, you develop hypothyroidism. The symptoms of the thyroid condition include weight gain, tiredness, and muscle aches. The medicine raises the level of thyroxine hormone and helps you get rid of symptoms.
Thyronorm replaces the naturally produced thyroid hormone to relieve symptoms of an underactive thyroid function or remove the thyroid gland. It prevents the recurrence of new goitres after a goitre surgery in patients with normal thyroid function. The medicine is equally effective in treating non-malignant goitre in patients with normal thyroid function. Doctors usually recommend Levothyroxine for malignant thyroid tumours, particularly after surgery to suppress new tumour growth and supplement missing thyroxine hormone.
Product Description
Do not take Thyronorm 150 mcg if you are allergic to any of the medicine’s active or inactive ingredients. You should not take medicine if you have an untreated overactive thyroid, adrenal cortex deficiency, pituitary deficiency, high levels of thyroid hormones in the blood, recent heart attack, acute inflammation of the heart wall and the heart muscles. Before treating, certain medical conditions and diseases should be ruled out. These conditions include coronary heart disease, high blood pressure, chest pain, adrenal cortex or pituitary deficiency. You must not take this thyroid medication to achieve weight loss. Inform your doctor if you are using weight loss drugs such as orlistat. Special care should be taken to maintain thyroid balance if you are pregnant or planning to conceive, have an underactive thyroid, central underactive thyroid, or have any heart symptoms.
Side Effects
The most common side effects of 150 mcg are caused by taking a higher dose of medicine than you need. Possible side effects include vomiting, weight loss, restlessness, vomiting, palpitations, or diarrhoea. Most side effects will resolve once you are on the right dose. Some people receiving this thyroid medicine may suffer a severe reaction to high hormone levels. Call your clinical expert straight away if you have a high temperature, irregular heartbeat, low blood pressure, fits, confusion, and yellowness in the eyes/skin. The medicine may cause you to lose weight, but one should take it to treat obesity.
