    Zo 200 mg contains the active ingredient Ofloxacin, a synthetic broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent for oral administration. It is indicated for the treatment of adults with mild to moderate infections caused by susceptible strains of the designated microorganisms in the infections given below:

    — Acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic bronchitis

    — Community-acquired pneumonia

    — Uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections

    — Mixed infections of the urethra and cervix

    — Nongonococcal urethritis and cervicitis

    — Acute pelvic inflammatory disease

    — Uncomplicated cystitis

    — Complicated urinary tract infections

    — Prostatitis

    Ofloxacin is categorized under the class of antibiotics called fluoroquinolones. It does not cure infections caused by viruses, such as the common cold or flu, such as viral infections in the sinuses and lungs. Please talk to your doctor if you think your condition is not improving while taking Zo 200mg tablets.

    Product Description

    Zo 200 mg is contraindicated in people with heart or kidney disease, and for those who have lung transplants, ofloxacin use is not recommended.

    Inform your doctor if you have any lung disease, muscle weakness, severe liver disorder, sleeping disorder or difficulty sleeping. Let your doctor know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The use of Ofloxacin tablets is associated with an increased risk of tendinitis and tendon rupture in all ages.   People taking Zo tablets who are over 60 years are at high risk, especially those taking anti-allergic medicine like a corticosteroid formulation.

    Side Effects

    Most side effects do not require medical attention and go away as your body adjusts to the medicine. The most common side effects of Zo 200 mg include diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, headache, taste change, itching, dizziness, external genital itching in women, vagina inflammation, etc.

    Other serious side effects of Zo 200 mg include:

    1. Central nervous system effects- Seizures have been reported in people who take fluoroquinolone antibiotics, including Ofloxacin. Let your doctor know if you have a history of seizures.

    2. Serious allergic reactions- Allergic reactions can happen in people taking Zo tablets even after one dose. Discontinue treatment and get emergency medical help straight away if you get any of the following symptoms:

    Trouble breathing/swallowing, throat tightness, hoarseness, hives, faint, rapid heartbeat, yellowing of the skin or eyes, skin rash, serious heart rhythm changes, intestine infections, changes in sensation and possible nerve damage, sensitivity to sunlight, low blood sugar.

    Get immediate medical attention if you develop any of the above side effects.

    How to Use

    The usual dose of Ofloxacin is 200 mg to 400 mg orally every twelve hours as prescribed by the doctor. Oral doses up to 400 mg may be given a single dose, preferably in the morning.

    The recommendations apply to patients with normal renal function. For patients with altered renal function, please consult your doctor. Antacids containing magnesium, calcium, aluminium, or trivalent cations such as iron or multivitamins containing zinc should not be taken within two hours or two hours after taking Zo tablets.

    Patients with cirrhosis: The excretion of Ofloxacin may be reduced in patients with severe liver function. A maximum dose of 400 mg per day should not be exceeded.
