    Zoldonat 4 mg injection is a prescription medicine to prevent bone complications such as a fracture in adult patients with bone metastases. It also helps to reduce the amount of calcium in adult patients where it increases due to the presence of a tumour. The condition is referred to as tumour-induced hypercalcaemia or TIH. The active substance of the medicine is Zoledronic acid, which falls into the category of drugs called bisphosphonates. Zoledronic acid attaches itself to the bone and slows down the rate of bone change. It is best to take this drug under the supervision of a physician. Follow carefully all instructions given by him.

    Product Description

    Patients should be instructed to tell their physician if they have had a kidney problem, pain, swelling of the jaw, feeling of loosening of a tooth. Notify your physician about your dental treatment when you are being treated with Zoldonat injection. While being treats with this injection, you must maintain good oral hygiene and go for regular dental check-ups. Contact your dentist if you experience any problems with your mouth. Those who are undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy, or who are undergoing dental surgery, who have gum disorder, or are smokers may have a higher risk of developing osteoporosis of the jaw. Please tell your physician if you are using medicines to treat severe infections, top blood pressure drugs, medicines to treat cancer, and a type of medication used to treat postmenopausal osteoporosis. You should not be using Zoldonat injection if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Tel your physician if you think you may be pregnant.

    Side Effects

    Common side effects of Zoledronic acid injection are severe kidney impairment, lower levels of calcium in eh blood, pain in the teeth/jaw, feeling of loosening of a tooth, a feeling of heaviness in the jaw, and swelling or sore in the mouth. Inform your physician if you experience any of these symptoms. Other side effects include irregular heart rhythm in patients receiving the shot for postmenopausal osteoporosis.

    How to Use

    Zoldonat 4 mg injection must be administered by a physician or a health care professional who to administer the medicine intravenously. Your physician will recommend you to drink enough water while receiving the Zoldonat shots. This is to help prevent dehydration during the treatment. Carefully follow all the instructions given by your physician. Your physician will decide the best dosage, depending on the severity of your condition. The usual dose of Zoldonat is 4 mg. If you have renal complications, your physician will prescribe a lower dose depending on the severity of your renal problem. If your physician has prescribed Zoldonat shots for the prevention of bone complications due to spread of cancer to other areas of the body, you will be receiving one infusion of injection every three to four weeks. If you are using it to reduce the amount of calcium gin your blood, you be receiving one infusion of Zoledronic acid.
